As a youngun', my first instrument was trumpet (noisy, dad not happy) At age
12, I started sneeking my sister's very expensive acoustic guitar outside to practice (sister not happy). Played a few acoustic gigs in Gainesville, FL until I saw Tom Petty playing "Refugee" at Live Aid I. Immediately switched to electric guitar, formed clichéd cover band Kaylen's Dream that played the fraternity scene at U of FL. Came home, joined Skip's Band and had a blast for awhile. Next, I did the So. Florida bar band thing in Steady Habit, Distant Cry, CC Jobodo. For a long time didn't play (Nigel not happy).
But, thank G-d, on Dec.31, 2004 Skip "asked me" to join Hipppies -n- Pilots! |
